§ 28-57. Forfeitures and penalty assessments.

  • (a)

    Generally. The penalty for violation of any provision of this chapter shall be a forfeiture and penalty assessment if required by Wis. Stats. § 757.05, a jail assessment if required by Wis. Stats. § 302.46, plus any applicable fees prescribed in Wis. Stats. ch. 814.

    (b)

    State statute violations and forfeitures. Any forfeiture for violation of the state statutes adopted by reference in this chapter shall conform to the forfeiture permitted to be imposed for violation of such statutes as set forth in the Revised Uniform Wisconsin Traffic Deposit Schedule of the Wisconsin Judicial Conference, including any variations or increases for subsequent offenses, which schedule is adopted by reference.

    (c)

    State statute fines. The forfeiture for violation of any statute adopted by reference hereunder for which the penalty is a fine shall not exceed the maximum fine permitted under such statute.

    (d)

    Local regulations. The penalty for violation of this chapter, except sections 28-1 and 28-6, shall be as provided in section 1-13.
