§ 14-120. Established; service area; separation from social activities.

  • (a)

    Established. There is created a fire and emergency medical services department to serve the firefighting and other emergency needs of the town.

    (b)

    Members. The town board shall fill the membership of the fire and emergency medical services department by contracting directly with individual firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and drivers to fill the department. The firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and drivers so selected shall be officially recognized as the town fire and emergency medical services department and the duties of firefighting, prevention of fires and preservation of life and property in the town are delegated to such department.

    (c)

    State rules applicable. The town fire and emergency medical services department's organization and internal regulations shall be governed by the provisions of this article and shall comply with Wis. Admin. Code ch. SPS 330 and any and all other applicable laws and regulations.

    (d)

    Service area. The fire and emergency medical services department is to serve all buildings, premises and public thoroughfares within the town limits, as well as any additional areas which the town, by approval of the town board, has contracted to serve. The total of this served area is to be known as the town fire department and emergency medical services area.
