§ 11-1. Split shifts for election officials.

  • This section, adopted by a majority of the town board on a roll call vote with a quorum present and voting and proper notice having been given, provides for the selection of two or more sets of officials to work at different times on each election day as follows:

    (1)

    There may be two shifts for election workers on election days. The first shift shall commence at 6:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. The second shift shall commence at 1:30 p.m. and end with completion of all required election day duties that follow the closure of the polls; or

    (2)

    There may be three shifts for election workers for certain elections at the discretion of the town clerk/treasurer. The first shift shall commence at 6:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. The second shift shall commence at 11:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. and the third shift shall commence at 4:00 p.m. and end with completion of all required election day duties that follow the closure of the polls.
